Travel in Style
Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 3:10PM I took a trip
to downtown L.A.'s Fashion District today and decided to pay a visit to new found friend and clothing designer Michelle Jonas' showroom. For those of you who are not familiar with her work, she designs a fashion forward travel wear line called Michelle Jonas, and she actually manufactures here in the U.S.A.
For the ladies who are lucky (or unlucky in some cases) to find themselves frequently traveling, this line is designed for you. What's so great special about it is that both fabrics (Gauze and Micromodal/Lycra jersey) are washer/dryer friendly, travel without worry of wrinkle from packing, can be worn for numerous occassions, and it's affordable. There are many styles and colors to choose from all year round. (Prices range from $45 to $395 depending on item)
My two favorite pieces (see right) are the Long Sleeve Knot Dress and Coverup.
Why my faves you ask? Well, because you can wear any of these pieces casually or style them with a great pair of boots and leggings (which is how I choose to rock'em) and jewelry. Stylish, versatile, care free clothing all in one, what more can you ask for!
Fans of the line include Heather Graham (how I was introduced to the line), Angelina Jolie, J.Lo and many of Hollywood's A list stars.
What's most important to you when packing clothes for your travels, we want to know? Post your comments below.

I'd have to say definitely clothes that don't wrinkle when you travel. I don't like to have to cram things into one bag. I want to be able to pack what I need, will enjoy & can stay in one bag comfortably. I definitely dislike clothes that require hand washing, gentle cycle or flat out dry clean. I like no muss no fuss. If I'm in a hurry I can wash, dry & go. When I read the label before or after wearing a garmet that requires extra care it either doesn't get worn or tossed aside to clean later. This is also perfect for people who have to hop off a plane & go to a business meeting or business meal. I wouldn't want to step off a plane, get in a car, & be completely sloppy & no time to change. Great idea!
