Because Fashion Isn't Just Clothing
Thursday, January 14, 2010 at 6:20PM I'm always looking for things to make life easier when it comes to surfing the web. I'm someone who likes to social network, research, and remember places I've been on my browser all at the same time. My guy who fashions himself a tech geek sent me this Firefox feature that I think is pretty cool. Now you can Fashion Your Firefox with add-ons that help customize your browser with things that are unique, personal and interesting to you.
I went ahead and added the Morning Coffee, Thumbstrips , and under the Social Butterfly category, the add-on for Facebook. The Morning Coffee allows me to simultaneously open up all the web sites I want as soon as I open up my Firefox browser. I can also see what's happening on Facebook, getting notifications when any of my friends post a status update, comment or share pictures. I'm also able to track all my browser activity with one of the very cool Thumbstrips, as it collects screen shots of where you have been on your browser minute by minute.
Below is a screen shot I've taken to show these three add-ons in use at the same time.

There are many categories to choose from like News Junkie, Rock Star for music lovers and Shopaholic (which I'm going to add but it may be a bad idea based on the title). You will need the latest version of Firefox, to fashion your browser.
Let me know how it goes for the Firefox users out there who decide to try this fashion feature. Post your comments below.

Ok this one elicits a "squee" out of me...I see me & Merle on there from Twitter fun! YAY!
Hmmm methinks Internet Explorer has it out for me & dad says I'm not tech savvy enough to handle Fire Fox especially if something were to go horribly wrong & he couldn't fix it. I did more digging on how to fix my RSS just a few minutes ago & that's how I found the new blog since we talked when I got home from work. I wonder if there is a way to unsubscribe & try again. Maybe your fashion techy geek beau might know how to fix things. I know it's not a Mac but when my computer crashed almost a year ago dad could only afford the dreaded "D" named laptop brand. Half the time if something is broken & requires a techy geek (who is very fashionable) I think of your beau & the many photos he'd show when working on fixing the cell phones & we'd all encourage him to keep at it & not give up. I think he fixed a few too! :D
I do have my browser set to where the upper tool bar under the URL bar has my favorites so I can just click on them rather than going to the bookmark or entering in the web address. I still do the latter just because.
Netflix is calling...one more movie to watch & the Soy Sweet chocolate ice cream type goodness is calling me from the freezer (so happy our Whole Foods store has stuff I can eat with no dairy & it doesn't taste like cardboard).
Enjoy Project Runway!

I was surprised to see you write about something like this, but happy you did as it is a great feature from Firefox. And I do like Firefox. Thank you. :)
