SAG Award Red Carpet Winners and Losers

Is it me or was there a huge improvement from last weeks Golden Globes red carpet fashions to this weeks Sag Awards?

Every color in the rainbow was represented, but white seemed to be the dominate color of the evening.

BEST DRESSED: Making a huge improvement from last weeks Golden Globe let down red carpet look. Kate Hudson looking perfect from head to toe in a Pucci white fitted dress with a low back and jewel embelishment on the hip. White tends to make people look heavier, but this dress actually elongated Kate making her look like a statesque beauty. The hair, makeup, and earrings just right. No need for anything but the earrings because the dress already had the jewel accents. This is how a true glamorous movie star does it!

MOST IMPROVED: MOST IMPROVED: Mariah must have gotten the message about putting the ladies away. She may not have worn the most fashion forward dress on but it was a tasteful style in a great color for her. It's like training a puppy, praise them when they do good, reprimand them when they do bad. Let's see how she does at the Grammy Awards next week

WORST DRESSED: I'm going to say this as politely as I can, either Patricia Arquette needs to fire her stylist or hire one. Emerald Green can only be worn in two instances, if you are a leprechaun or part of the cast of Wicked. The style of this dress should elongate a person, it only accentuates that she doesn't have the frame to pull this off. Patricia, please invest in Spanx, you clearly need something to help flatten and sculpt your mid section. Or wear aonther style dress.

Perfectly Age Appropriate: Carey Mulligan looking fashion forward and the age appropriate in a Lanvin dress.

CHEAP TO CHIC IN A WEEK: Love, love her in this Alexandrer McQueen dress, so much better fabric and shape for her body. The blue design accent around the neckline works well on her skin tone, and I'm happy she went with simple earring and bracelet.

BORDERLINE BJORK DISASTER: I really don't know what Katrina Bowden was thinking, she could have chosen so many other beautiful dresses, why something that looks like you re-did Bjork's red carpet swan dress fiasco.? You are too pretty to be hidden by all those feathers. Please don't do this again, it's not cute.

MISREAD THE INVITE: Sometimes Drew gets it, and sometimes I just think she misreads where the hell she's going. It's a Hollywood red carpet event, not the coming out of a sixteen year old Southern belle.

GETS IT RIGHT AGAIN: Diane Krueger looking chic from head to toe in Jason Wu, love the bold color choice.TIMELESS BEAUTY: Helen Mirren always looking elegant and timeless on the red carpet. Whatever her beauty secret is, i want to know it, I want to look this great when I get to her age!

I totally missed them! Ya I have to agree with the comments under each photo, especially the getting-close-to-the-Bjork disaster.Hudson & Bullock look amazing. Well said on the color emerald. Thankfully I found out the hard way but it was only for my step-sister's wedding of which I was just a guest. Now if only I could get rid of the dress! LOL! You mentioned Spanx! YAY! It's something I'm looking to invest in :)

Bring on the Academy Awards! (I'm not one to watch The Grammies & if I did I'd mute it to watch the fashion).

Amazing what a change a week can make. Agree with you on all counts. Love Kate's whole look. She emanates movie star. And Diane, besides looking great? She knows how to pose and work the dress.

I'm pondering your stylist comment. If these women have such little fashion sense to start with, and they have hired a poor excuse for a stylist, I guess it would be difficult for them to realize it and find a new one, until they get raked over the coals in the media. I mean seriously, did Drew not look in the mirror?? I gotta say though, I kinda sorta like the feathers. I like outside the box and it was light and fresh and still beat the hell out of 90% of those god-awful prom ruffles last week. C'mon.. at least there wasn't a big ol' swan neck and head hanging off of it! LOL

Btw, I love the layout this time! :)

Julie,
I figured out a better way to lay out the pics with comments. I'm a novice to the technical aspect of the blog sphere, I just keep at it until I get what I want.
I can't agree with you on Katrina's dress, but I give her a pass for being daring. Too many feathers for my liking. Well, yes stylist usually would be fired or never hired again. But Drew was a disaster. I almost wanted to give her biggest FAIL because I think she has a stylist, and two eyes and a mirror. LOL!

Yeah! Loved this blog post...gave me "a fashion follower", a better idea of what makes or breaks your pics. Totally agree that the fashion was much better for the SAGs.....can't wait for the Oscars! Thanks!
