Vogue's iPhone App

For the fashionistas on the go, Vogue has created a shopping and styling application exclusively for the iphone. It's Vogue's attempt to embrace technology by connecting the magazine and advertisers with readers credit cards. The app is free but sounds like it can get quite expensive for the girl who might have a little TOO much time on her hands.
This is how it works: The current month of Vogue's advertising and styling trends are loaded in the app for you. You can scroll through the ads or the trends that are profiled, select the image that interests you all with a tap of the finger. All the items from the selected image are then itemized with a picture with all the information on brand, style name, and how much it costs. You can then select the search icon that will pull up all the stores the specific item is found in and locate it on google maps. You may also satisfy your need for instant gratification and buy your item through a shopping cart that is set up. All items selected are also organized by category, ie. tops, footwear, handbags, etc. for the user to reference later on and is stored by picture in the above mentioned categories.

Now here is where it gets a little disappointing. There's a camera available so you can take pictures of your own wardrobe and use the category system to personalize your looks with the ones selected. I just feel that it lacks a purpose. Why not take the pants or shoes one may highlight of their own and suggest ways to style the outfit with the items selected from the ads or trends.
It's nice to see fashion embrace technology. With all the bloggers and tweeters sitting in front row, it was only a matter of time before the magazines had to get on board. Sorry blackberry users the iphone wins out again!
What do you think about Vogue's shopping/sort of styling iphone application, will people love it or never use it? Please post your comments below.
